Re: Einbrew 3V2P - First Brewday

Sounds promising, I've yet to open the 1v one i have to test , but all going well i should get it out on thursday. Are you using that for BIAB then? Good luck and enjoy! It definitely made the brewing experience more enjoyable for me. No it's for a one vessel brewing system , like a braumeister , o...

Re: Einbrew 3V2P - First Brewday

Did a German Pilsner on the 1v1p last weekend, it’s very impressive. I have a 2 vessell rims system similar to the breweasy setup, this is similar to biab, full volume brewing. I also have an ardbir which I thought was the dogs, but the 1v1p is easier to use. I have a review coming shortly Great, I...

Einbrew 3V2P - First Brewday

Hi Everyone I’ve not posted on here for a little while, but thought I’d do a little write up about the recent modifications to my 3 vessel kit recently connected to the Einbrew 3V2P Controller. I’ve had the kit around two years, built from a two 70L stainless steel stock pots for the HLT and the boi...

Re: My first biab!

You hit the gravity which is great for a first attempt. I've down about 20 BIABs vast majority have turned out very good, although I may upscale to 3 vessel soon so I can do bigger batches. It will take 3 or 4 attempts maybe to get the quantities right and know your kit. Malting your own barley! Tha...

Re: 2014 Big Brew Day: Seymour Simcoe Mild

Great write up there Seymour as always, & congrats on a great looking mild. I was going to attempt my first mild so and thinking along these lines with bold hops, still going for a 20 IBU 4% ABV max beer but I have Simcoe, Citra and Mosaic at my disposal, as was also thinking of adding a little bit ...

Re: Polaris

Just asked the Head Brewer at Brewdog some questions via Twitter (#TweetTheBrewer). One question was 'what hop combinations would you avoid'. The answer that came back was 'Polaris and anything else'. They haven't yet replied as to why specifically? I had a Kernel single hop Polaris and it was very...

Re: WHICH MARIS OTTER

THinking of getting the crisp lager malt so I can get really pale beers, and adding a bit of munich in recipes that need to be a bit darker and maltier. Reasonable option? I've only used lager malt once for a Belgian Triple & it came out really pale & clear, I did lager it a 4 degrees for 3 weeks t...

Re: WHICH MARIS OTTER

Has anyone used Brewers Select ? I saw it mentioned on another thread, they sell Bairds malt for £13.10 (lager or pale malt), £14.10 (maris otter). I emailed them but haven't heard back yet. Presume they would have a minimum order though... That is cheap! Is it trade accounts only though maybe, it ...

Re: Head retention

Some of my beers have had a good head after a week, others have taken a few weeks. Sit tight, hold your nerve and, er, keep your head. The clue's in the subject title. :-) Yes it's all about patience and will power, and resisting the urge to drink it all before it's at it's best. Very hard work ind...

Re: Thoughts on my Triple IPA recipe

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I'm about to embark on something similar and was wondering how this turned out? Was it sweet/dry? Would u change the hop schedule? Etc etc The Pliny the Elder recipe is quite easy to find too. My bro-in-law and his mate brewed it and it was amazing! One of th...
