With a bit of care you can remove the original gauge and replace it with one a smaller range. I’ve swapped mine out for a 0-15 psi.

Re: Plastic Beer Bottles
I’ve got the Pegas Steel and it makes bottling a joy compared to carbonation caps.
I had a couple of queries post-delivery and Arturas was very quick to help.

English vs. German Munich Malt?
I ran into the same issue a while back. The English has a much stronger flavour so you will only need to add 40-50%

Re: Brew Control Panel Build
Automation will only help with consistency, but you will need to refine your procedures for positive results before you can start repeating consistently.. Dont be deterred just loose your ag cherry before you start designing the last brewery you will need.. Listen to Fil. Couldn’t agree more. There...

Re: Hose connections
I'm not sure how interchangeable the QD's? But I've had issues with my cornies and connectors not easily fitting together. I have 25+ male and female QD’s from several different suppliers and all work fine together. For some of my connections where the hose is pulled around a bit I use hose clips w...

Re: SS Brewtech Chronical leg extensions- any good?
Thanks @razzrockbolt - I've had some additional advice that the shelf adds much more stability and that aluminium sealing/crush washers enable the legs to be tightened up so that they align properly.
As you say, seems a shame that they are not a better fitting product given the price.

SS Brewtech Chronical leg extensions- any good?
I’ve been thinking about buying the keg extensions for my 14 gal Chronical in order to make dumping and cleaning easier. Various reviewers have mentioned that the legs on their own are pretty flimsy and really need the additional shelf fitted at ground level in order to make the whole thing sturdy a...

Re: Recirculation pump on an ACE boiler
Looking good! Will you be connecting it up to a temperature controller? I did something similar but without using the mash bag and ended up finding that even with the false bottom sealed in with a silicone gasket I had to upgrade the pump in order to deal with the odd bits of grain than inevitably g...

Re: House Session Pale Ale v1-v4
Just checked the FG before crashing - 1.007 ](*,) That's on a 71 degree thin mash!!! Tastes good, nice and clear, no off-flavours that might suggest that something else has been eating the sugars. I'm wondering if the 250ml slurry repitch was an big overpitch (Edit 1: it was only a couple of days ol...

Re: House Session Pale Ale v1, v2, & v3
My pH ended up higher than I wanted at 5.7 which I have realised is probably down to a new and better voltcraft meter. If this happened with your Vienna beer then it could explain why the beer didn't clear, particulalry if you sparged with water high in alkalinity. It would drag out more polyphenol...

Re: House Session Pale Ale v1, v2, & v3
With all the lovely weather that we've been having I thought it was probably about time to start swapping the heavier winter tap beers for something a bit lighter. I've got a Graham Wheeler Yorkshire ale conditioning, and a rebrew of that planned, so just need something hoppy. My aim is still to end...

Re: Splitting the treatments
You can do either. At the moment your final liquour calcium level is 130, push that over 150 and see what happens. Thanks - I've done that on the calc, whilst keeping the same Sulphate-Chloride ratio for Sweet pale ales that I wanted. I used the automatic setting on the calc. So this will up the Ca...

Re: Splitting the treatments
For 3V I iam for 20-25mg/L using a 'pale' grist, when I use the Braumeister it 's more like 12-15, so a 40-50% reduction above what is normally recommended. For my 3V I've been reducing to 20mg/l using Graham's calc (see pic) and ended up with 5.7pH. Would the easiest way to get a lower mash pH be ...

Re: Splitting the treatments
Undertand the split, what I meant was raising the calcium level overall even more, so more went into the mash. Split ratio can remain the same. Ok, that makes sense. Water treatment brings back terrible memories of chemistry class at school which I was nigh on alergic to. Should have worked harder ...
