Re: Yeast Help Windsor vs S-04
I've had 1.019 with this yeast before (68% attenuation), and a couple more times again! I mashed hot last time (68c), but expecting it to stop again at 1.019 I had increased the malt. Final result was that it followed me up, and stopped at 1.027 (57% attenuation). So, mash at low temps and increase ...

Re: TIG welder advice
Looks like MyToolStation or Import1989 is now calling himself Ipad-Mypad.
Buyer beware, or Buyer Buy Again!!!
Amazing how if you get shut down or if things don't work according to plan, you can change name on Ebay and carry on as if you're someone else!!!

Tig weld 3mm x 70mm stainless box steel. No filler rod. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dhalse001/6985751919/in/photostream Coking on the inside. Maybe amps too high as molten bubbles coming through, but oxidising/coking and then they started to rust. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dhalse001/6839630280/i...

Re: TIG welder advice
Ok... so gas. I had my flowmeter up too high. It's best to sort that out quickly! I was up at 14L/min, now I'm on 8L/min and feeling better. However, I shopped around and the discounts for buying bulk argon are MASSIVE. I've just bought (rent free contract) pure argon 30L for £105.60 from Barnet-We...

Re: TIG welder advice
Hi guys, A mate pointed this post out to me, and I've read it, and would like to add my 5 cents worth. Welders I bought a chinese welder off Ebay and a plasma cutter at the same time from Import1989 calling himself MyToolstation. I looked long and hard, and considered shops etc (who seemed to me to ...

Yes - the tap store. I get mine when I can get a mate (mule) to carry them back and avoid duty/VAT and international postage costs.

Re: Keggerator with drip tray
The drip tray I bought new - from porta (as I was getting some other bits from them at the same time). But I reckon you must be able to find one second hand if you look around?thedeckking wrote:Where did you get the drip tray from?

Keggerator with drip tray
I thought I should share this (if it uploaded right) - it seems to get a few laughs. Yes I've already been told that I have too much money and too much time to waste! It's simple really: The drip tray is hooked up to the 4th corny in the fridge which is full of water. When some mates come around I a...

Re: cornie keg pressure?
Did this myself. Get the gauge (I paid about a fiver off ebay, up to 60psi or whatever), and a stainless female-female coupler, then a john guest 3/8 push with with a male on the other end, just make sure they're all the right threads and sizes. And note that the BSP sizes are nothing you can relate...

Re: CO2 regulator and bottle in Kent
Adams should deliver for 5 quid to Orpington (I'm in Orpington and been in touch re delivery about some other gas). Up to now, and I haven't tried Adams yet, I've been going to Calor - Slyfield, Guildford (19 quid) - for a full sized tank, but buying a couple when I go as it's an hour away. Cheap as...

I've done this too.
Can't help but fill the cornies as close as possible to the top.
Here's what I'm looking at - but they say not for gas... I'll give it a go any way I think.

Re: Stuck - which stuff-up is most likely to stop fermentati
I recently had another balls up. The OG was fine, but just didn't seem to ferment much. I think what happened is... I tried a step infusion, but miscalculated the water temp I needed to raise the mash properly. Hence I probably only got to 60C and I think little conversion, meaning little sugar for ...

Re: Why is my OG off..
But now I'm waiting 1 hour, stirring, wait another 30 mins then iodine-starch test. I found today that I still hadn't reached full conversion, but I'm impatient and started sparging anyway. You really should get complete conversion well before then - around 30 minutes in my experience. For your tes...

Thanks guys,
I'll be definitely slowing the whole thing down next time and seeing how I get on. I've been typing in 75% in ProMash software, but nowhere near 75%.

Dave.
