Re: Arduino Project : Temperature Measurement

If any one does try this, I recommend not using the stock one wire example as I said above. This seems to be a lot better. Dallas Temperature Control Library http://www.milesburton.com/?title=Dallas_Temperature_Control_Library How to use it is here http://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/ds18b20-arduino This ...

Re: Arduino Project: HLT volume display using bathroom scale

This looks such fun. Just getting an Arduino off eBay. Should I get the mega rather than the uno? Its only a few quid more. Is there any difference between brands/vendors? What accessories should I get at the same time? Cases, shield etc. Main use will be connecting up loads of temp sensors. http:/...

Re: Arduino Project : Temperature Measurement

A raspi in my opinion makes a better basis for this sort of thing as it has the connectivity required. Of course it can be done on Arduino but the cost soon mount up with the various shields. Opinion noted. However this screen + two temp probes + arduino = £20 Shields do cost money so I avoid them ...

Arduino Project : Temperature Measurement

Right, time to stop hijacking Andy's thread and do my own. Have programmed before, but with Pics and Hitachi micros Arduino is easy, cheaper and more fun. Arduino Uno is £6 off ebay and all software (IDE) is free http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software Loads of free help on http://arduino.cc/ if you cant...

Re: Arduino Project: HLT volume display using bathroom scale

Interesting! I've been thinking of buying a Raspberry Pi and mucking about with that, but I gather the I/O side is a bit basic. Maybe the Arduino would be more appropriate. I've got a couple of Raspberry Pis and one is destined to be a web server to display the brewery status so I can see what's wh...

Jim the pi is good for graphics and operating systems on. Arduino is a basic micro - but great for switching relays and readin...

Re: Arduino Project: HLT volume display using bathroom scale

Good luck Andy.

Spent the day doing an arduino to two temperature probes.
Both shown on a lcd.
The idea is to add other bits later on.
Its good fun isnt it.

IPA wrote:Just screw a hook in the ceiling and use a simple pulley attached to coil and ceiling then you can have it at any height you want Preferably as high as possible in the wort with the top coil just submerged.
Good idea, but I brew outside.

Skyhook anyone

Re: Adjustable height wort chiller

Problem is fil coil and tube is submerged.
If tube gets too soft, could just come off coil.

Though might end up extending it for piece of mind.

Blackaddler wrote:If you make a few "S" shaped hooks of differing lengths, you can hang the coil from the rim of your pot at the depth you want.
Now that is an excellent and simple solution.

Adjustable height wort chiller

Just getting back into brewing after a break. Och29 where did you get that nice wood barrel from?

Brew looks good, nice to know you can still make a good beer when all your gear fails.
