Re: AG#31 - Honey Ale

Then you may as well add some sugar . Surely the point of adding honey is to get some honey flavour ? Not boil it off and simmer just to be sure .

Re: Newbie only at home on the weekends - How can I ferment

Hello . It will prob work in your favour as there will be less chance of anything going wrong ie poking about and keep checking on it = chances of introducing infections . As long as the temp where you brew is stable the yeast will happily chug along and do its thing . I would be happy to leave beer...

Offer of honey .

I have around 4-5kg of last seasons rape honey that is showing early signs of fermenting . The water content was a little high when harvested so i expected this to happen . Is it of use to anyone ? Happy to send it in return for a bottle or two of the resulting mead . https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.co...

Re: First all grain. Summer ale

First brewdays are always a pain :) so many variables and things to learn. This weekend passed, I made my first AG for a while on a new BIAB kit I made due to moving into a flat (no room for my old 3V kit) and it was just like the first brew again [emoji38] - if it could go wrong, it did ! I battle...

Re: Bulldog brewer

Yes . It only goes to 60 . Will give them a call and update . I spoke with the tech dept today and the V2 only goes up to 60 mins on the timer . They are looking at developing a V3 with a programmable control unit that can include 5 steps and will go to 90 min + . I also mentioned the temp calibrat...

Re: Bulldog brewer

I'm presuming that you leave the power on max during the boil or do you take it down a notch? Oh and approx how much dead space under the filter? Cheers. Tom Yes leave power at full for the boil . I estimate about 1/2 ltr is left once you tip it forward at the end to drain the last bit out .
