Re: Going from 3V to BIAB, bag recommendations
Just buy a few square metres of voile. ( Net curtain material) Line your vessel with it and secure with a bungee. To remove just gather the edges and pull together. It will be cheaper that a custom bag and if the method is not to your liking you can make hop socks out of it.

Re: Automated Control Valves.
I'd go for a solenoid operated diaphragm valve. They can easily be split for cleaning and I'd expect NC versions will be available.

Re: Kits to AG is it easy?
Only returned to brewing recently after many years drinking commercial beers, to find that things have really moved on for the better. Completed a few kits since with mixed results but in whole pleasantly surprised. Thinking ahead, what have been fellow brewers experiences moving from kits to AG.Wa...

Re: Kits to AG is it easy?
I too went to BIAB from kits via a few Extract brews. I went BIAB as a cheap and easy way to get into 3V. It was only ever a stop-gap but I can't see myself bothering with 3V as the results from BIAB are fantastic. Both methods are producing wort. Just the equipment is different. Ditto.. BIAB is th...

Re: A few questions
Weeknight 1: mash Weeknight 2: boil, then leave to cool with lid on stockpot overnight Weeknight 3: siphon into fermenter, aerate and pitch yeast 1: Overnight mashing is possible and some guys have/do do it. 2: Boil then cube, this is called no chill and is widely practised. Do a search on "No Chil...

Probably the good old U,S, of A. With the massive craft brew scene and their passion for hoppy beers the market over there is huge and the hop growers are well supported by the breweries such as Sierra Nevada.

Re: Your favourite summer lager BIAB recipies please.
Hi Chris
Not a lager brewer so I can't help you on an actual recipe unless you want a Munich helles, what I would say is that any recipe can be brewed using the biab method so don't hinder yourself thinking that BIAB has to be in the recipe title. An AG recipe is an AG recipe be it 3V or Biab.

You need some voile material for a bag which is a very fine net curtain material.

Re: Maxi-BIAB and No Chill
A 20L jerry will do the trick. There is some debate as to the need to exclude any air from the dead space at all. I push out most but not all, I know one Biaber who doesn't bother. I made this syphon Here and it works a treat. As for dilution I would do it in the fermenter as you would for a kit, us...

Re: Recommend me a boiler (and chiller question) for BIAB
Secondly, is a chiller recommended? If so, is there a decent one on the market, that doesn't rely on a continually running tap? I'm on a water meter you see :) Go no chill. 25L HDPE cube Like these fill with hot wort, sqeeze as much air out as possible, seal and rotate every 10 minutes so that all t...
