Re: Kegerator build - dreaded hole drilling

I've not tried it myself but I have seen this method of knowing where the cooling lines are. Turn the fridge to the coolest setting, then its coo, spray the sides (inside) with water, it should frost up where the cooling lines are.

Yes, I think the op does mean the alcoholpop you could (and still can) buy in the shop.

I have no idea on a recipe though.

Re: Carbonation Drop Question

I haven't used carbonation drops so I am no authority on them. What was your process post bottling? You generally need to leave them somewhere warm(ish) for a week or two to carbonate. Were the lids on tight enough? Even if you couldn't see any yeast, there would almost certainly have been enough to...

Re: Help

My second brew I have tried is the muntons ipa but it’s been in a plastic keg for about 2 months but the abv hasn’t gone up on the hydrometer I did a hydrometer reading before putting the ipa in a pressure barrel. It was at the same as it is now 😂 I added the 85g sugar as suggested on the box norma...

Re: What fridges are we using?

Not over-indulgent at all! I have 3 under-counter fridges and a smaller one in the bar as well as the SS Brewtech fermenters with heat mats and cooled by a maxi 210 in the garage. This is still a work in progress and lots of people make my setup look distinctly modest! [emoji106] Matt Sent from my ...

Re: What fridges are we using?

Maybe I'm being over-indulgent, but I have 3 fridges in my brew/beer shed: 2 larder fridges, one configured as a fermentation chamber for my fermentasaurus (great fit) and one as a beer fridge/hop store 1 under-counter fridge which house 2 x 19L cornies and 1 x 10.5L corny (gas bottle is outside th...

Re: Keezer build project, equipment query I.e.

Schoolboy error, 220v model on its way, I sincerely hope this works! It will do. I tend to wire up an STC in a box with either trailing sockets or sockets mounted to the box, one for heating and one for cooling. I plugged the freezer in to the cooling socket, obviously. No different to wiring it di...

Re: Keezer build project, equipment query I.e.

I’ve always used STC1000’s got all my keezers (I’ve build three & about to make another, I keep changing my mind) and never had a problem with them. If you don’t want to build the enclosure and wire it up then inkbird do controllers which work out of the box.

That’s your issue [emoji23]

In all seriousness, don’t touch it or heat it during the mash, just keep it well wrapped up and it will be ok.

I use a pond pump with a spray head attached to it. I take the spear out completely.

Re: Sankey cleaning socket

Those cleaning sockets are for cleaning beer line for instance in pubs. Very basically you take the couplet off the keg and put in on the cleaning socket. You then pump beer line cleaner through the socket which then goes through the coupler, then beer line and ultimately coming out of the serving t...

Re: [Newbie] Beer dispenser

Depends on what you are serving, the temp of your beer and the length of the line. Unfortunately, with commercial beer you don't know what pressure it has been carbonated at. It's going to be a suck it and see i'm afraid.

If you can keep the keg cold that will help a lot with foaming issues.

So I’ve poured another beer and it’s defiantly carbonated. Is it possible that my beer line is too long? I’m using 3/16 line.
