Re: imperial stout modification

Yeah, somewhere around 8-8.5% but i figured it should be a lot more flavourful than the version that used three kits brewed to 20l (but really needed a 30+l fermenter because of the foam) I liked that version, apart from immediately after drinking the aftertaste was like a can of tennents super. not...

imperial stout modification

Hey folks I knocked up a modified version of the coopers imperial stout today. I made it to the recipe a few years back, and it ent across quite well, but tasted a bit too much like super lager, alcohol after taste, not much body. I made it to 33l in a 60l blue food grade barel 1x coopers stout kit ...

Re: Not so new shiny

I considered wood for mine, and then pondered using unistrut, or bolting together slotted angle but I think the best way forward is to talk nice (or bribe with beer) to my cousin's boyfriend and see if he can weld me something suitable for the pots I have wood will be far too bulky, and I'm not sure...

Re: Not so new shiny

I need to knock up a brew stand, so that could be a job for the easter weekend. Unless I find something suitable before then.

I could probably BIAB in the kettle on the workbench I have, but I'm not certain it would hold the weight

Not so new shiny

I've had this thermopot for quite a while but only recently got round to making a start on sorting it out. After a bit of advice and a purchase from Mrlard, this is the end result. Leak test failed dismally, with a pretty nasty leak at the tap, but nothing on the underside, so a bit of ptfe tape sho...

Re: Fermenting in Corny kegs- problem

you could try just giving the yeast in the smelly one a bit of a gentle rouse, or you could add yeast from the other keg, and move it somewhere a little warmer for a day or so.

before I did much more with it, i'd taste a sample, no point wasting time trying to save a keg of vinegar...

corny keg q

hey folks, i'm still pretty much out of the brewing game, but have a keg that has a coopers lager in that i haven't touched yet. i've been invited to a bit of an impromptu party where i think the beer would go down well, so was going to take it along. should it be possible to gas up the keg, and dis...

Re: Oven Gloves

We've got silicone gloves, work well with wet and dry heat, and very grippy. Just feel weird.

maxi cooler parts

don't suppose any of you know where i can get a replacement for the red overflow bung on a maxi cooler? i've yet to test the one i got a few days ago, as it has no overflow bung, and i'd rather not flood the place if i can avoid it

Keg connectors

I picked up a maxi cooler a few days ago, and it came with a cleaning bottle with Grundy connector on. Should iv standardise with Grundy based on the connector on the bottle or go Sankey and get another bottle? I'm going to have four kegs on the go and another connector to fill and clean.

Get yourself a big boiler from mrlard on here, and a brew in a bag bag from eoinmag(sp?) On here. All the flexibility of all grain, one pot. When you want more kit, talk to mrlard. :)

Re: Name that keg / coupler!

They look similar so my money is on the keg being s type but the coupler being d type. They are close but but the same and aren't interchangeable.
