Crossmyloof works out pretty expensive £10 for a 1 gallon kit and if you use their custom weights to make a recipe its V expensive compared to geterbrewed.
I appreciate the suggestion of the 5 gallon kit but im wanting to try different recipes mostly
Thanks for the ideas though

Cheapest place - 5 litre/1gallon All grain kits
Bought a few all grain kits for 5 litre/1gallon batches which is my batch size of choice (mostly hobby and dont drink tons, plus equip/space). These come with a big markup compared to 5 gallon kits despite having a 5th less hops and malt, but the same yeast packet. So has anyone found somewhere affo...

Re: 5ltr Water bottles - what size bung?
Hi folks, I assumed someone on here would know the answer when Google failed. 5 litre water bottles from the supermarket, what size rubber bung do they take? Going to buy a bung and airlock off eBay but can’t find what size I need anywhere. Thanks If you're using it for an airlock, then years ago w...

Kits better made then they used to be?
Was watching a YouTuber today who mentioned the liquid extract twang was gone in some of the newer to market kits from etc. curious if others had a similar experience? If so with what kits? I brew extract mostly (dry malt) to avoid this twang but some kits would be much easier if that twang has been...

Re: mangrove jack malt enhancer?
Yeah that's what I thought however they clearly say that this is 100% lme with no dextrose or malto dextrine and everyone seems to be selling it for £4.99 even malt miller.

Returning to brewing - best kits?
What are the best kits available? The mangrove jack ones have taken my fancy by not being tinned extract, having a good yeast and dry hops but not seen many reviews out there. What's the general consensus?

mangrove jack malt enhancer?
I'm curious if anyone knows if this is different to lme? It says online it's 100% liquid malt extract but I can't work out why 1.2kg is £4.99 yet they also sell LME for 1.5kg £9.99 most places online. Is there any reason you couldn't use this for extract brewing?

Re: Fresh wort - request
No clubs local to me, never heard of any in Sheffield where I lived before either. I did some home brew trades years ago so I know how it can taste plus I know that bar some small differences realistically drinkable beer should be easy so I know something is off, going to bleach all my equipment, wa...

Re: Fresh wort - request
Tbh now you mention it I think when I’ve tried them most smell/seem alright pre packaging. I’ve been packaging into a tap a draft so doesn’t have the benefits of moping up oxygen as you said above. I think I’ll try bottling this batch and being very careful with my bottling and see how it goes.

Re: Fresh wort - request
Oxidation is a possibility it’s potentially the only thing I haven’t ‘fixed’. But based on what I see some homebrewers do on YouTube they should be having way bigger issues then I do. I have a batch on now so I’ll be super careful when I bottle and see how that goes. I’m trying bottling again as tha...

Re: Fresh wort - request
Long established issues just can’t quite seem to fix, I’ve tried kits, all grain, extract, recipe kits etc. Everyone just doesn’t taste right, hoppy beers are just bitter with no flavour. Just always something off about them. I’ve read everything you can read, I clean everything, sanitise with stars...

Fresh wort - request
Looking for someone local to Barnsley to help me out with something. Wanting someone to make/give me some freshly brewed wort, can be 5litre in a one gallon jug. Just wanting to brew someone else’s wort and see if my brewing issues are from brewing or fermenting/dispensing. Will pay for the wort/tim...
