Yeah I've used finings before with this and it worked fine.
Also primed with 120g for 15litres, that gave a good fizz rather than a rocket!

Re: Best place to buy Festival kits?
Most of the hombrew online suppliers do free delivery once you spend £50 so as long as you get two it'll be £25 each.
Try art of brewing or the malt miller, both of them have had good reports here.

I'd say stick to the instructions, at least for the first Brew.
The festival razorback IPA kit also has 3kg malt extract plus brewing sugar and that certainly didn't lack body etc from using sugar.

Re: recommend me a kit.
Is the 15 litres limit set in stone? You'll get a lot more choice with 23 litre kits (and fermenters).
A trip to wilkos would sort you out with all the essentials - and I reckon you can't go wrong with a Woodfordes Wherry for a first brew.

Wow HUGE mark up on the Festival kits. Quite dissapointing as that will put folk off making some really nice brews!

Re: Brewing for my wedding

I was at a great do last year where the bride and groom had been to the brewery, chatted about exactly what sort of beer they wanted and then delive...

Re: EXTRA HOPS IN A JOHN BULL IPA KIT
I made this kit last night with 40g of Target, boiled for 10 mins then added to the FV. I was surprised at the colour for an IPA - it is a pretty dark brown.
