Which (*Basic!*) Kegs?
:?: Having just read the earlier question of this nature Here , I really feel the hallowed 'Cornie' isn't for me. Initial outlay ~ for a few! ~ would be prohibitive. Then there's the gas bottles - I'd have a hell of a job getting the exchange bit sorted out, I imagine? I'd be buying from 200 miles a...

I've found Coopers kits to be excellent quality and judging by comments about their stout, it is no exception. :D Made my day, that has! I was parousing the kits available to me last night and spotted Coopers. Now There's a good old Pompey / Gypsy name! I was drawn to it instinctively. But I was wa...

Skate?!?   There's fighting talk! The 'Skates' in Pompey are 99% imports. RN personel. Roundly despised ~ by extremely long and good tradition ~ by the 'normal' people. A largely mutual relationship. (Well, alright; Having actually grown out of such stupidity and got to know s...

I can tell it must've been decades because he looked like he did then. Now there's pictures of him that much older he's barely recognis...

Wilko's? That's not going to be exactly a top flight kit then, is it? Trouble is, we don't have any Wilko's over here. Not that I know of anyway. I was toying with the idea of plying a mate who's set to visit me presently to buy some and fetch it with him. Only I reckon the bugger'd Brew the stuff! ...

Thing is, mate; I haven't got a stove  Bloody great, clapped out Range, yes. But that only gets sparked up during the most unbearably bitter winter weather. And only then if I have the wood available to fuel its rapacious little maw. So, unless I'm burning hardwood double glazing frames in the...

If you want to keep beer and heater completely seperate you can put the fermenter in a larger bucket of waterand put the immersion heater in the larger bucket, effectively creating a warm water jacket.   You truly Are The Man, aren't ye! Hmm. Fair point, Daab. I was about to no, no the suggestion as I've had a lot of experience with those things whilst using them for closer to their intended purpose. I tended to find them finicky and time consuming to get set at the proper temp. Where as the big dial on my old Electrim, I had sorted...

Electrim Bins and Heat Mat Stations?
 Yeah. I know ..... What you Don't know is what I live like! I'm in an unheated, stone built cottage in the middle of a bog. My idea of "Room Temprature" is below 50F. So, if ye still have a convincing arguement for my Not 'wasting my money on', I'm ready to listen. Otherwise I'll just...
