After researching the use of these i need some simple, straight to the point clarification. This is in regards to a karmeliet triple clone.
Can i add flaked barley straight to the mash with no faffing?
Can i add rolled oats straight to the mash with no faffing?
And finally, are rolled grains the same as flaked grains?

Re: flaked and rolled grains
Now that's an intresting question, afaik, they have to be pregetinised to add in the mash.. So if it's been stream rollered is that pregel, ?
But what I do know is porrage oats, need a little warming and maybe a little simmer, for them to work there best,
But you can use instant oats in the mash.

Rolled, flaked and torrified grains are all pregelatinised and so can go straight into the mash.
Only unmalted wheat, rye, whole oats, unmalted barley, maize and rice need a cereal mash
