Yeah just looking at that, the only US hop available seems to be cascade, that's fine it's a nice hop but are there any more?
no palate, no patience.

Any more what? Any more US hops sold in rhizome form? If so, definitely, over here anyway.

In the early spring, I can usually get Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Cluster, Crystal, Columbus/Tomahawk/Zeus, Galena, Magnum, Mt Hood, Newport, Nugget, Sunbeam, Sterling, Ultra, Willamette, plus a few oddballs each year. If you remind me around March, I'll trade you one of the above for a Progress rhizome.

I'm finding Summit to be a superb all purpose hop.
The bitterness and flavour from early and late boil additions is fabulous....very smooth, deep and satisfying bitterness.
As a dry hop, the aroma and flavour just jumps out .... Highly recommended.

From what I've read, hop style is a result of their growing environment. So English hops are caractistically English because if the long moist growing season whilst American hops develop as they do due to a much shorter, drier season.

With that in mind, I'm not sure how successful a famously American hop such as Amarillo would fare in Blighty. If it was as easy as just planting a rhizome, the whole world would be growing to top hop.

Unfortunately Amarillo is not available in rhizome.
England is a good hop growing region and non-English hops should grow there, but will differ from American grown ones.
I have goldings growing in my back yard and while not exactly like English goldings they are very tasty.
I'm just here for the beer.

Three S amber ale: three gallons, O G 1,052, IBUs 34
5 1/2 pounds PNW pale ale malt
10 ounces German vienna malt
10 ounces carawheat malt
6 ounces British crystal 60 malt

1/2 ounce saphir @ 3.8% to first wort hop
1/8 ounce summit @ 18.5% plus
