green northdown
Made another green hop beer this year, using the 750g I got straight from the plant into the wort in three additions. Just had a taste and its not the best, bit of a disappointment. this is the 3rd year now and its never been great, may dig it up and get another variety. ( I don't have room for a lot of these ) any suggestions?

To me, Northdown is a decent English bittering hop but that's about it. I've had several Northdown single-hop trials, and like you said no deep flaws but nothing too special either. I'm not convinced it's a good choice for late flavour/aroma. I much prefer it in dark ales which emphasize the malt complexity, so that's someting else to try.
I can't remember what else you're growing, but if you like the flavour and aroma of the other varieties better, then use Northdown for your full-boil addition and save the others for the end.
