Amarillo

I do a pale bitter with Challenger as a bittering hop and using Mt Hood for aroma. I am planning to brew on Sunday and won't be able to get supplies in before then, I have no Mt Hood but lots of Amarillo, I hope it wouldn't be a disaster to substitiute the Mt Hood with Amarillo, albeit they're not very similar.... What do you think?

Do you like amarillo?
It will be a different beer, but still good.
I'm just here for the beer.

Never actually brewed with it and bought it as an experiment, which I guess this is! So I'll probably just crack on.....

Amarillo are stunning hops. Very tropical. As you have lots of them I'd be inclined to do an Amarillo SMASH. Lurrrrvley

If you like an aromatic beer then Amarillo used as a dry hop will excite your nostrils. Better in APA or Golden styles for my money.
I am "The Little Red Brooster"

Fermenting:
Conditioning:
Drinking: Southwold Again,

Up Next: John Barleycorn (Barley Wine)
Planning: Winter drinking Beer

Thanks for advice folks, a 5 gallon SMASH it will be, all pale male and Amarillo hopping. I'll also dry hop with Amarillo as I should have enough for this also.

Amarillo is one of my favorite hops! How do you like them in this beer?
