Highest Fermentation Temp for Fullers Yeast

Post by MyQul » Mon Sep 11, 2017 4:54 pm

I'm just about to culture up the Fullers strain from a bottle of 1845. What's the highest temp people have fermented this strain at? My kitchen corner where I brew is quite warm (about 25C) so I'll need to use my coolbrewing brew bag. Higher fermentation temps means less ice bottles plus I like esters in my bitters

Not used the 1845 yeast but I have used WLP002 a lot, reputed to be the Fullers strain. Personally I've never let it go above 23c but that's probably more to do with staying within excepted guide lines.

I started this one off yesterday. 2 bottles in 300ml. Going good so far. Transferring to 1L tomorrow.

Oh yea, the Fuller's 1845 was bloody lovely too!
