Brewlab yeasts

Post by Bierhaus » Tue Oct 17, 2017 6:30 pm

I have a decent collection of (mostly) English yeast strains and was thinking of ordering some of the BrewLab slants. Although being in the US, it is pretty costly and I don't want to order something I may already have. Does anyone know the purported origins of these strains? Was especially interested in the Southern and Northern yeasts.

I can't help much sorry, though I reckon the Lancashire yeast must come from the Thwaites brewery. Sussex is believed to be a single strain from the Harveys yeast.

They have a custom section on the website ordering page. You can call them and discuss what you want. They will match as closely as possible. They never give their source away, but it might be a good way to approach it. Better than taking tips off home brewers cos nobody actually knows where the yeast strains come from outside Brewlab, to my knowledge.
