Starter for 5l brew
I am splitting a brew into 5 litre batches to test a few yeasts. I have a pretty old (month or so) harvested WLP007, probably about 25 mls. Given the small brew, I’m thinking a 500ml starter. Would this be ok?

Rule of thumb is 10 times. So go for 25gs of light DME in 250 mls. 500 mls wouldn't do any real harm though.

If the WLP007 is only going into 5 litres you might be okay without a starter, but it would be good insurance to do a small one.Paddington wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2018 9:55 amI am splitting a brew into 5 litre batches to test a few yeasts.
