tried some of my papple cider last nite
(see link viewtopic.php?p=165698&highlight=#165698)
it was rather nice ,pretty peary (is that a word!!) added a couple of splenda tablets to get rid of the dry sharpness but all in all a nice pear cider :D :D :D :D now to make up a fv full of it !!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a nice one. Will have to get one of those on the go once I have empty demijohns (all full up with barley wine)

just make sure you strain the pear juice as much as you can try to get as little pulp in there as possible :D :D

When did you add the splenda tablets? When you pitched it or after fermentation?

i did 8 different versions when i bottled it with differing amounts and brands of sweetner the one i tasted didnt have any sweetner in so after pouring and tasting i put 5ml of boiling water into a shoot glass added the splenda let it disolve and added to the pint. so (in theory) the ones that i have already sweetened when bottling shouldnt need that extra splenda :D :)

Thanks for that. I may just 10 dissolved tablets per 5L demi-john and mix up in the bottling bucket.

I take it Splenda is 100% non-fermentable so prime bottles using normal amount?

yep splenda is non fermentable so is candarel and most "sweetner" sugars
