Cider Apples .....

..... I've not got any ..... :( however I have a prolific Cooking Apple tree and several normal apple trees , Lord Lambourne, Laxton Supreme....

Is there any mileage in trying cider with the mixed crop?

Prozac, there's some good advice on mixing your apples for cider here.

Obviously the varieties will be different, but the principle should be the same.

Apparently a good mix is around 1/3 Bramleys to 2/3 dessert apples. I seem to remember reading that this is often how Kentish cider is made as cider apples are not as common there as in the west. I have never tried it, but I have plans.......
