1st time TC success

Having read some entries on this thread i thought I'd make TC. I followed Daabs recipie with sugar and another one with honey. I racked them off today at 1010 honey and 1006 sugar. They taste great & wifey likes them too, I'm hooked. Thanks for all the TC tread entries.
The TC with honey is amazing.

Took my first batch of TC with tropical fruit (had some juice spare) to a friend's birthday BBQ Saturday. Served with fruit and ice like Pimms, very nice, slipped down easy but had the weird side effect of making me very tired. To the extent that it seemed a good idea to fall asleep on his front room floor. Is this a normal reaction to TC ??

my 8.6% TC Demerara has a sedative effect, a couple of pints and i am very sleepy.

None of my other TC's have been an effective sedative though.

The refractometer put it at about 18% ABV but by the SG & FG it could have been as low as 13% ABV
