HI
just like to say a big thank you to all you guys on here...

I have now had two batches of Turbo Cider its bloody great....

It is coming out at about 10% :)

I get my apple juice from Aldi its 78p per litre, and i now have a new batch brewing in my first demijohn i 7/8ths filled it with apple juice then topped it off with cloudy pear juice.

It has been bubbling for a week like mad and it shows no sign of stopping.

My local landlord is supplying me with Newcastle brown ale bottles.

Its almost like free Cider.......

Thanks lads... :D :D :D :D

Really simple mate...
fill demijohn 7/8ths full of apple juice..

get 1 litre of apple juice in a saucepan and warm add 200 grms sugar and a big tablespoon of honey and just let the sugars disolve...

Add the juice to the demijohn and give it a shake then add the yeast and shake again.

Leave it a week wack it in a bottle, leave it another week and bob's your uncle........

Its bloody great mate honest i have mate's who want to buy it off me :)
One of them has even gone and purchased a demijohn and started his own brew....

if you have any questions just let me know mate

My LHBS is Wilkinsons :? :? :?
I sometimes make it up to Hamstead Homebrew in Brum, but only when I'm passing.....
I then wondered if you could use some of the current live cider brewing as a starter..... does yeast grow and multiply like bacteria ?

I'll have to wait till I get a sachet of yeast.

Thanks fella.

Do you need to leave 'froth space' or is it ok to fill the DJ up to the neck.?

Whoever it was that asked about yeast multiplying: Yes.

Yeast is an organism classed as a relative of the fungi, they reproduce to optimum density for the available sugars, and when not in the presence of oxygen consume sugars and secrete co2 and ethanol.

Careful with your falldown juice, lads! I just made a batch for one of the girls at work... see how bad her hangover is when she comes in after drinking it.

I couldn't get hold of any cider yeast, but I have Champagne yeast.

Has anyone any idea how much I should put in per Demi-john for my Turbo Cider?

I put a teaspoon of Allinsons Bread yeast per DJ..... working brilliantly at the mo..... though I guess I could end up with a DJ full of bread
