Vimto TC update

Post by GlossopTiger » Sat Oct 04, 2008 9:06 pm

Well got round to it
Having bought the Vimto (2lt full fat) last weekend
Needed research & bits
Reasearch & helpfull comments on earlier post
Got a bit concerned over the TC label as it is more of an Alcopop
Just looking for something good to drink rather than a high % looking for 5-6%
Well got to the HBS today, didnt have champagne yeast (loads of TC yeast but didnt want as i think that is a diferent route), but had a sparkling white yeast which seeing other educted people were proposing bread yeast, i thought it would be close enought
Well the problem was to come up with the recipe
Back to basics checked the SG of pure Ful Fat Vimto
Got a potential of 15% with no dilution - Vimto wine now thats a thought ???????????
So went for a 1-3 dilution & got 5% potential
Any how this is how it looks now

Will keep you updated
As you will see i have i have got round to sorting photo's on the website
Unfotunately i deleted the other photos i took of this experiment - dont know how

It's something different, that's for sure!

Let us know if you decide to try the undiluted Vimto 'wine' - that should be interesting!
