Hi,
I am currently on my second batch of Turbo Cider, and could do with a bit of help,
on priming.
Once my 5gallon TC has finished fermenting, I will be then bottling it into
2 litre old pop bottles and would like to prime them so I end up with fizzy
cider. The only problem is I am unsure of how much sugar to put into each
2 litre bottle, as I want to avoid the bottles exploding.
If someone could point me in the right direction of how much to use I would
be very greatfull.
Regards
Mark
TC - Priming 2 litre bottles (how much sugar?)
Re: TC - Priming 2 litre bottles (how much sugar?)
I work on 3g per litre or 1/2 Tsp per 500ml bottle; so..6g or 2 Tsp per 2Lt bottle (for ale)

I do the same as rick for ale...............my girlfriend likes her cider fizzy like strongbow. I prime double for TC about 6g per litre (140g for a 23 litre brew), mixed into the whole brew before bottling. I use plastic PET bottles.

Re: TC - Priming 2 litre bottles (how much sugar?)
I use more sugar for priming cider than I do for beer 85grams for 5 gallons of beer 120 grams for 5 gallons of cider. If I am priming pint bottles 1/2 tsp for beer 1 tsp for cider.

Thanks for all your prompt replies.
After reading through the above, it looks like if I use 3tsp of suger to
prime each 2litre bottle I should be ok and not have exploding bottles?
Also does anyone know what the approx "cut off point" of too much sugar
is when bottling up 2litres bottle i.e. the bottles explode.

Shouldn't have too much of a problem with that solorize, 2 litre pop bottles are designed to deal with pressure
My gran drinks sparkling water, and they come in 1 litre plastic bottles, I ask her to save them for me and that's what I use to bottle TC.
