My two batches (1 Rasp & Apple, 1 Rasp & Ginger) finished their 2nd ferment at the weekend, so have now gone to settle for a couple of weeks.

Looking forward to trying them :)
Bert,
If you bottled a couple of 330ml bottles as `Tasters`, put one in the fridge for a few hours and try it. You might be pleasantly surprised. :D
I`ve drunk mine after 17 days in the bottle and they have been great! :D

I've been in Tesco today and bought what I thought was the raspberry one but on closer inspection when I got home found it to be raspberry and lemon. Is this actually the right one and if not has anyone ever used it? How did it turns out? Cheers

I just made this with a 4 week old baby strapped to my chest.
Its that easy.
Apparently the syrup is drank in black tea by polish people when they're I'll, according to my polish workmate.

I followed the recipe on the first page and looking back at my notes I got an SG of 1090. That can't be right can it? 400 g of sugar the syrup brewed to 4.5 l.

ok so this turned out way too strong, i did 1 bottle of the polish raspberry syrup and 4.5l AJ, ts of yeast, 400g sugar, mug of strong tea (3 bags) and 1ts yeast nutrient, it has finished fermenting now, looks great but like i say just way too strong to enjoy it, going to try add a little lemonade when drinking, next brew i am taking away the AJ and using water, maybe 2 bottles of the syrup and 300g sugar, and take the tea away, this was my 1st brew attempt and i am happy it turned out and worked.

Hello fatman,
You are using tooooooo much sugar! That`s why it is so strong!
Read through every post on this thread and you will learn a lot! :D :D =D> =D>
I have reduced my sugar brew by brew until I found something tidy Mun!
50gr sugar 5.4%
100gr sugar 6.3%
200gr sugar 7.4%
300gr sugar 9.0%
Be aware that the Polish syrup has 64gr sugar in each bottle, so factor that in to your sugar additions! :D
WA

jacob,
Addition to the post, the Polish Syrup contains 64gr/100ml, not per bottle!
No need to go mad on the sugar additions because it will be hard to drink! Yours should come out at 12.5%. Be careful! :D #-o

First batch out of the dj and bottled up. 4.5%, not bad for a first go.

I have read this topic cover to cover. Its my own fault for putting it on at 11 at night, with a baby strapped to my chest and seriously sleep deprived.

We live we learn.
I'm thinking I could add some grape concentrate and some black tea and stabilise at a sweet wine gravity.
Thoughts?
Its fermented with tokay yeast. I just had it and it needed using.

Thread necro?
One bottle of malina 440ml
600g gran sugar, inverted with half a lemon and boiled for ten - 20 minutes.
tbs of tom paste since no dap.
tipped malina into boiling water, tsp wine tannin.
Meanwhile, sanitised everything, de chlorinated 4.5L water and aerated.
Hydrated yeast (Cider) at 30 degs in ordinary water.

aerated 3l water into DJ, tipped malina mix in.
Played with BBQ.
Tipped yeast in - shit - 40 degrees! DAMN
Crash cool and pray.
I will certainly have annoyed the little beasties by going from about 20 to 40 suddenly, but since they rehydrate at 40 - i hope i havent killed too many?
Opinions?
Time will tell; it was a full 5g of youngs cider yeast 'bayanus strain'.
I can always repitch.a
