I've never been keen on cider...

I've never been keen on cider...

Post by Jim » Tue Jul 12, 2005 5:33 pm

...but then again, I've never had proper cider, just stuff like Strongbow & Blackthorne out of a plastic bottle.

I keep thinking I may be missing out, much as someone who once had a pint of Watney's Red Barrel and thinks that all beer is p*ss.

So, can someone recommend me a good, authentic cider? Preferably I should be able to buy it in a supermarket, and not have to go to Somerset (or Brittany! :D ).

Westons do some good one's including an organic range.
Much Marcle ciders are almost always well above average.
Don't forget you can also get some very nice Perrys nad Calvados in the UK... ;)

I've tried some ciders at the festival in Plymouth, but they are really different to ours <_<
they 're very cloudy and the taste surprised me a lot, I don't know what to think about it !
maybe I'll come over again next year with mine :P
