Hello Armchair,
Good looking brews there!
I made an Alcotec 48 pure Turbo Yeast to 40 pints for my 25yr old son a few months back, that came out at 26% ABV. He flavours the shots with sodastream flavourings, he`s got 12 different flavours. The Apple one is the best. Still got about 37 pints left because his mates are scared to drink it! Think I`ll put it in my car`s petrol tank and see what happens. Well, I don`t want to waste it!

Ah.... This is my next step when I find enough bottles to put it in ;)
How did you get it up to 26%? Pm me if you don't want to say on here.

I've bought the yeast, the carbon and the thinings already :)

What does the carbon additive do? I quite like the idea of extending my life by not drinking 40 % expensive whisky and developing the taste for 20% home made 'spirit' Think I may go for this when the opportunity arises....just having ordered a big cache of grains etc from maltmiller I daren't look at the bank for a month or so!

It gets rid of some of the nasties and clears the taste up a little.

True, but being a "Turbo" yeast and its been stressed fermenting up to that sort of ABV its going to always have a bad taste whatever you do to it.
I buy my grain & hops from here http://www.homebrewkent.co.uk/

Hello Armchair,
I Don`t know how it got to 26%, I followed the instructions, OG 1188, FG 0996 (is that possible)? If not, call it FG 1000.

6kg are you sure. if you make 5 litres that would make a brew about 70% if any yeast could handle it.

ive always found that 1kg will make around 12% abv in a 5l batch.
