Well, this is embarrassing.

I'd take it but, I'm a little far away. Also, have you seen my reviews? not so good.

Ha, perfect! In that case, stick a return sticker inside the box and I'll send you back some of mine and some local rarities.

Bigdave's Malice Porter

Nice hiss on opening. Subtle aromas of vanilla and coffee, gently carbonated with little to no head.

Thick, viscous mouthfeel but surprisingly light taste, not cloying or sticky, rather a nice mix of coffee and biscuits. Yum! Subtle hop flavour balances nicely.

Bitterness and hoppiness come through in the aftertaste with hints of citrus. This beer really coats the mouth leaving a long lasting coffee and hop bitterness lingering.

Rich and satisfying, a really tasty pint.

Spikesdad's Irish Dark Red Ale

Gentle hiss on opening and subtle carbonation. Dark red is definitely the term, with ruby highlights when held up to the light.

Lovely mixture of roasted malts on the nose, including caramel and chocolate glavours. Very little hop flavour, but that's to style. Surprisingly light in mouthfeel for a beer with so much malt character. Subtle bittering comes in to balance the malt.

Hints of coffee in a long, dry aftertaste. A nice malty drop, which is especially nice when every beer these days seems to be about the hops!

Glad you enjoyed the malice porter. I personally found the carbonation levels too low so room for improvement. :)

Hey guys! Hey guys, I got one! bigdave was so kind as to send one of his Malice Porters over the pond, I was so excited and it lived up to the hype. A delicious, dark, hoppy beer. Thank you so much, and keep up the great work.

Here goes, 'bout to get all nerdy on you:

Will you look at that foam and lace?! Opaque, nearly black, but reddish hues at the edges when held to the light. Awesome.

To be clear, I'm not a BJCP-certified judge. I used this form because it's the one I get back from contests, so it's familiar, and a useful way to organize a beer review.

I hope you can read my hand-writing. If not, let me know.

I'm really glad it arrived in one piece and that you enjoyed it. The under carbonation was something that I've been very aware of on this one both in the bottle & pressure barrel! Think the bitterness issues may be down to a poor choice of hop. Oh well, I'll just have to revise the recipe and send another sample. :)

Oh, I seriously dig the choice of hops: first time (I know of, at least) I've had the combination of Bramling Cross and Stella (though legally changed to "Ella" now, by the way, after a stupid Stella Artois lawsuit.) I wouldn't recommend changing the varieties, just fewer of them in the first, full-boil addition. Again, very nice brew!

Spikesdad's Jack Frost Pale Ale

A light copper coloured beer with moderate carbonation and a slight head. There's a delicate aroma which is almost sparkling, with a light hoppiness. Earthiness on the nose with some floral notes. Not getting much malt, maybe a slight biscuitiness, but the body doesn't suffer for this. More earthy bitterness in the aftertaste which lingers for a satisfying finish.

An enjoyable pint, but just lacks a bit of malty depth for my taste. Lovely traditional earthy bitterness though.

Uncle Joshua's Cascade

Highly carbed with a full fluffy head. Bright gold. As the name promises, a zesty grapefruit aroma. The grapefruit is immediate on the nose, and is enhanced by the carbonation. There are hints of malt in there, but it's mostly covered by the citrus. The grapefruit lingers into the aftertaste, and kind of takes up residence at the back of the throat giving a long fruity finish.

Another beer that, for my taste, would benefit from more maltiness, but tasty nonetheless.
