Excellent recipe, just modified this to brew a more 'winter warming' version:

Grain Bill

Golden Promise: 7.2Kg
Crystal: 375g
Chocolate: 225g

Hop Schedule

Fuggles (4%) - 15g - 60min
Styrians (3.4%) - 20g - 60min
Fuggles (4%) - 35g - 30min
Styrians (3.4%) - 40g - 30min
Fuggles (4%) - 23g - Flame Out
Styrians (3.4%) - 23g - Flame Out

Gave me a 1068 (@ 32 deg C) Original Gravity... so I'm thinking about 8% ABV when it's done.

Nice :-)

Fantastic recipe. Glad to have made this especially in Norway where you cannot buy decent ale at all.

Cheers

Brewed this with S-04 several years ago.
Tried Nottingham last winter.
Both ales were the best I've had.

Just finished a king keg of this brewed with the Chimay liquid yeast (wpl 500 I think), and it's the best yet. All the Orfy Hobgoblin flavour, which is better than the original, plus a real Belgian character. Started ferment at 25°C for a day, and cooled down to 20°C, where it finished.

I will brew this again and again!
