Hi,
I've been given a free packet of Bulldog saison yeast - http://www.bulldogbrews.co.uk/products/ ... yeast.html
Apparently this is a new range of dry yeasts from Hambleton Bard.
I'm brewing a grapefruit saison soon and will report back on the yeast, but wondered if anyone has had any experience using it?
Thanks,
Andy

An update on this- pitched on 10th May, started at 18c and then ramped up gradually to 27, Now letting it drop back and will cold crash in a couple of days. It's gone from 1.057 to 1.003, all looking good so far.

Have you used Belle Saison or the Mangrove Jacks one to compare out of interest?

Hi, not tried the Belle Saison or Mangrove Jacks yet, but may well do. It's great that there are now so many options with dry yeast!
Re the 1.003 - yep, that's just the yeast (that and a fairly low temp mash). I love saison yeasts!

Yes - I've used wlp590 French saison several times and loved it. Ferments very well and easy to use.
