Copper Finings

Post by mshergold » Sat May 13, 2017 1:41 pm

I'm hoping I might have the opportunity to brew on Tuesday for the first time in well over a year. I've moved in the meantime and although I know where (most of) my equipment is, I've just realised I've no idea where my protofloc tablets or sodium metabisuphate powder is. I can probably get some campden tablets from Wilkinsons to replace the sodium metabisuphate powder, but even if I do find my protofloc tablets, they're probably out of date and Wilkinsons don't sell any copper finings. Is there anything else I can use? Is there anyone in the Rainham (Essex) area who'd be willing to sell me a tablet or some Irish moss? I'm working until Monday, so can't get to any of the homebrew shops.

Don't worry excessively about not having finings available, I honestly have noticed little discernible difference on the times that I haven't added them into the kettle.
