Cheapest place for food grade hose
After reviewing my process I've worked out I can run a small hose from my bathroom (it's down stairs ) to my brewing shed for filling the kettle and connecting to a chiller and general cleaning tasks to save me luggingnwater around. Now to save time I use water straight from a combi boiler so my water enters the brew kettle at 50-55c. So I'm looking for 7 5m of food grade hose so I can put push connectors on either end for this purpose l. Any one got any cheap sources
Thanks in advance sean

Re: Cheapest place for food grade hose
I bought my last hose from - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silicone-Clea ... 1416510950
It's peroxide rather than platinum cured afaik, if that makes any difference to you.
I wasn't sure exactly what you meant by ' push connectors ' (is that John Guest?) though, so I'm not sure if that's suitable or not.
Edit: I just thought, if you wanted to use silicone with JG fittings, I'm pretty sure for a none-brewing purpose, I bought JG --> hose barb style fitting.

I meant this kind of connector

Sort of using it like a big extension lead

Re: Cheapest place for food grade hose
So basically I want a pipe like you'd want to water your garden with but food grade
Re: Cheapest place for food grade hose
Just fit a flexible length on the bathroom side. One that could be easily connected (eg, to a tap) when required. Failing that, set up an outside tap from the bathroom supply. What other options are there?
Re: Cheapest place for food grade hose
Search for "caravan hose" on eBay. Advertised as food grade.
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

PEX pipe is what plumbers often use these days for heating and potable water. could do for a more permanent solution, or can still coil up a bit if not

Re: Cheapest place for food grade hose
fwiw i use a length of the Blue drinking water hose sourced via an ebay caravan bits n bobs supplier to feed my brewshed. its a similar material to the silicone hose i use in the brewshed and has coped well with laying on hot slabs mid summer containing very warm water due to the sun without any noticable odours or taste in the resulting water feed.

Re: Cheapest place for food grade hose
fraid not, the transaction has expired from my ebay history, its been laying out exposed to UV for at least 5 years now,, and the search i performed for "drinking water hose" which to the best of my recollection is what i searched for before turned up a number of ads which depicted blue hose, but they all look like composite materials with embedded braid while the stuff i have is a single homogeneous material, similar to automotive use silicone tube.
this stuff has similar properties reading its specs but is a bit more expensive than i recall paying, and dosent look 'right' in its pic what with the 2 colour tones. iirc the stuff i bought cost a few pennies more per meter(20-30p) than premium garden hose
