Wrong Crystal

Post by Bigbud78 » Tue Sep 12, 2017 3:52 pm

I stupidly used pale crystal instead of dark in a bitter I was trying, its currently chugging away but I'm worried it might not have much of a malty taste to it.

Should I leave well alone or maybe dry hop it ?

You could go the way of a pale bitter, and yes bigger hopping might help

They are not showy, but use the right ones in the right blend and you can make some very satisfying beers.

Got a pale style at home that was all Goldings, very pale, that didn't quite work as an IPA. Settling into its twilight years 8 months on its mellowing into a cracking pint.
