Just racked part of my latest brew into a 9 litre corny, and switched the gas over and set at 20 psi. I am new to cornies, only started a couple of weeks ago with them!
It seems to be ok, no leaks and regulator is showing 20 psi still but I’ve noticed beer in the gas line. There is a lot of line and it’s resting in a dip, luckily not close to regulator but my question is this,
will that effect carbonisation?
How did it there?
How can I avoid this going forward?
Pic attached is upside down. But the corny is on the shelf above the co2 cylinder.

Re: Beer in gas line
Is the beer in corny above the bottom of the gas in tube ?
Do you have the correct disconnects on the posts ? Grey for gas , Black for beer
Have you dispensed any beer ?

Re: Beer in gas line
Pretty sure all disconnects correct, i have a 19 litre corny already carbed on the bottom shelf with the CO2 cylinder
on the shelf above i have a 9 litre corny that i started carbonating at lunch time. just noticed a bit of beer beer sitting in the tubing - about level with the base of the corny, with obviously the gas connect being at the top - if that makes sense. on the pic its the bit against the black base - you should be able to see some yellow- (also remember that the pic is upside down)

Re: Beer in gas line
ahh so it does! thats handy.
think i may have overfilled the keg so will probably pour a pint or two out this evening.
But do i leave the beer until carbonation has finished? if i turn gas off now will the pressure in keg force that beer back up to regulator?

Re: Beer in gas line
So just checking, is that beer is ok to sit there in the gas line, until carbonation finished?
Re: Beer in gas line
Why not disconnect the tube and blow it out with a blast of gas?
Consider investing in some non return valves to prevent a reccurence.

Re: Beer in gas line
That’s what I did in the end. I was worried about the beer going back into regulator as soon as pressure reduced but it didn’t.
