Brewbrite

Post by ben034 » Mon Apr 30, 2018 4:36 pm

Hi, is anyone using Brewbrite?

https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product ... ifier-50g/

Maltmiller are selling this and wondered whether it was worth a go to speed up clarity in bottles, especially with heavily hopped type beers? Was thinking of giving gelatin a go with the cold crash especially with heavily hopped beers but would be interested if this is any good. Any good or much the same as Irish moss / protofloc?

Thanks

I use this to great effect but you will still need to use gelatin or similar post fermentation to drop the yeast out. Brewbrite helps avoid haze, especially chill haze but different finings will be needed depending on the yeast used, if you dry hop heavily etc and want it done fast.

Thanks for the advice. I'm happy with clarity with English style bitters as they are (possibly cold crashing for a few days post fermentation). Will give it a go with gelatin on a hoppy pale ale as last heavily hopped batch was very murky. Tasted good nonetheless but I do like a clear beer

I've used this a couple of times: https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product ... rity-15ml/

If anyone would like the remaining half a bottle, you'll be very welcome to it?
