Excess wort after sparging

Post by Leard » Sun May 20, 2018 1:51 pm

I'm currently brewing and I underestimated my efficiency. Because of this I have more wort that I'm able to get into my kettle. Therefore I've taken the extra and put it into a separate pan to also bring up to boil at the same time as the actual wort.

The extra wort is about 1.95L with a gravity of 1.013. How do I determine how much this will impact on my OG when I've added it to the post-boil wort?

Never mind - ignore all that. Beersmith has a dilution calculator!

personally i'd just put it down the sink, there won't be much fermentables in it and you 'should' stop sparging at around 1.010 anyway. What yeast do you use and what is your usual fg after fermentation?
