North East brewers, competitions
I'm sure some of you will of seen Ali's link about club only competitions, I think this would be a good idea for us to enter these. I know not everyone was keen on competitions but I think it would give done focus and targets to aim for, I know the standards nationally is very high...any thoughts.

Hi Steven
Do we have someone who will be driving down to the competition, Who would be willing to take the bottles.

Rule change I'm afraid. No late entries so anyone taking bottles will have to deliver them by 6th September.Normski wrote: Do we have someone who will be driving down to the competition, Who would be willing to take the bottles.

Yeah sorry about that, but the 100+ late deliveries on the morning really delayed the start of judging while we labelled and anonymised the bottles . . . One thing we can do if there are no late deliveries is to actually judge some categories in the evening before the comp.vacant wrote:Rule change I'm afraid. Don't forget that you only need to 'deliver' 2 bottles for the club only comp . . .
Plus for the main comp we will be setting up local 'drop off' points for beer to be delivered down to the 'storage point' . . . This is still one of the things we are arranging.

Re: North East brewers, competitions
Hi ..sorry I've not been driving anything lately as jim pointed out I've been snowed with children..my god 2 is more than twice the work I'm certainly enthusiastic to keep this going, so any suggestions for a meet up are welcome..I've been.trying to meet up with norm for a pint and bottle swap since before christmas
Is anyone interested in the saltire meet ? it was cracking last year... my hotel is booked..but anything before that is open to suggestion.
it might be an opportunity for the first north east competition winner
I might have a practical brewing venue coming soon also..I'll keep you posted...it involves some 2000l stainless pots I recently purchased
I have taken to the tap and spile recently to throw a suggestion in

The beer is spot on - we had the first few forum meet-ups in there.alix101 wrote:Yes I was in before christmas and there was a, good atmosphere...and beer selection...Jim wrote:Do you mean the Tap & Spile in Fram front street?
The only problem with it is it gets really full on a weekend - but that's a bit like the chip shop with the longest queue I suppose - it's always the best one.
