Re: UK National Homebrew Competition 2013 - Oxford
I am nearly there with the set. Technology hasn't been playing which has slowed me up. Next few days I hope.beer today wrote:any update on the feedback eta ?

The web ninjas have fixed the problems and the script which sends out the sheets is running as I type.
Check your email, and let me know if any are missing.

Something has gone wrong with the server sending things out.....50quidsoundboy wrote:i just received six scoresheets, none of them mine (and i only had one entry)...

And I've just had 56 emails to tell me so. I know, and am trying to fix it.alikocho wrote:Something has gone wrong with the server sending things out.....50quidsoundboy wrote:i just received six scoresheets, none of them mine (and i only had one entry)...

Did these problems get resolved? I'd love to see what the judges said.

Re: UK National Homebrew Competition 2013 - Oxford
nothing has been sent to me but rumour has it it is possible to manipulate a url on the website in order to see your own score sheet. (i've seen my score sheet).
sorry to say this, but my experience of this competition (the first i've entered) hasn't been good. i expect for most entrants, the feedback is THE most important thing: the one beer i entered scored low, so i assumed it was flawed, and it was only when i read the glowing feedback (months later!) from the two judges that i learned i had apparently brewed a first-rate beer but had entered it in the wrong BJCP style category. this feedback was worth its weight in gold and i think it's pretty grim that other people are missing out on theirs.
i also think - controversially, or not? - that if you organise a competition of this sort, it's probably good form to exclude yourself from the runnings for actually winning it. no doubt i'll be shot down for this but there are good reasons. newcomers to the scene may well look at this year's competition and conclude, wrongly, that it's a clique, not for them...and that would be sad.

Re: UK National Homebrew Competition 2013 - Oxford
Despite the manual email following the server issue with mailing sheets out, it seems that some people still haven't had their feedback sheet. I'm sorry they didn't get through, but I only tend to find out when people havn't got them, not when they have.
In the hope that this attempt might work your feedback can be accessed by following this link, substituting the judging number for your entry for the xx-xxx (the judging numbers can be found in the attached spreadsheet).
