That sounds nice! Plenty of dry hops :) . I've never had columbus on its own, but from reading forums it seems really popular in america.

Yeah I was sorely tempted, the Double McTwist 1260 IPA with an OG of 1.260 would have been sweet ... but unfermentable :D

Columbus hops are nice. Really earthy(tobacco) with a tad of citrus. That beer has winner written all over it.
You'll have massive hop aroma, with plenty of bitterness.

Tobacco! I like the sound of that. The hops were '09 crop and smelled incredible out of the packet. I have a good feeling about this one.

Heres the wort, just pitched the yeast. Sitting down to lunch now. Nice early-ish finish.

Tobacco is about as close I can get to describing it. It's definitely unique.

Aroma of tobacco leaves. Flavor is earthy citrus.

I thought i'd post some feedback on these hops, seeing as they're quite new to these shores.

Dry hop aroma is fantastic, predominantly orange with some pine. Flavour is similar but it's slightly sharp, with a noticeable acidity, like a squeeze of grapefruit juice has been added. Also a bit of something spicy/earthy like some cloves. And pear maybe? It's a 'C' hop all right with a lot in common with Centennial. The bitterness is very clean and crisp and doesn't linger too much. I get what Whorst says about tobacco but this is not a flavour I would have picked out had he not said it.

It's a pretty good hop. I like it more for aroma (dry hopped) and bitterness more than flavour I would say. It's a little one dimensional as far as the flavour goes. The orange flavour is a little artificial, like drinking a can of tango. And pine and orange don't go particularly well together. Not bad just needs something to compliment it. I would like to use it with something like Amarillo or Nelson.
