Dumb & Dumb i really am #-o . Have had to substitute Pale Crystal for Caramalt, simply because i mis-read label on bag of malt yesterday, #-o I really wanted that nice sweetness of pale crystal in there, but caramalt should add a bit of body. Oh well!!

So amended recipe is...

A few pics to be going on with

I thought caramalt and pale crystal were one and the same...obviously not. Nice pics and good looking recipe - enjoy your brewday!

I think, and i stand to be corrected here, that pale crystal gives a more sweeter flavour, and gives more colour to the brew than caramalt, which gives a 'crystal malt flavour', but with less colour.

Nice pics Spikesdad. I like the shiny set-up - those mashmaster thermometers look the business.

Lovely looking recipe too - as soon as I read it my thoughts were "Yep! That'll do nicely." :D

Hope it turns out well for you.

Cheers!

Thanks jimp, alls gone well thanks, pitched yeast at 1.55, an got all cleaned up, and tidied away for 2.10, so thats just a 6 hour brewday, inc a 25 min steep of the Cascade, which is about right for me.

Anyroad, got some more pics before camera died.

Hard to tell, but it was 1.042 on the dot.

Collected target of 23L, @ 1.042 which means i hit my efficiency target of 77%, no mishaps, no floods, droppages, breakages, etc, so well happy. :D :D :D
