brew on today, my fourth take on this recipe, very loosely based on Fullers London Porter from the Graham Wheeler book
21L, OG 1044 planned, FG 1011 planned
Colour 43.6 EBC, bitterness 47.4 IBU
23.5L in the pot, add 5L prior to boil; strike temp 71degC to counter the grain temp of 14degC
Pale Malt 3474g
Brown Malt 509g
Chocolate Malt 200g
Crystal Malt 270g
Torrified Wheat 100g
90 minute mash @ 67degC, 90 minute boil. I normally do 60 minutes of each but for some reason I've decided in the past to do these for 90, so sticking to the recipe, 90 it is.
Fuggles 60g @ 90 mins
Fuggles 20g @ 10 mins
Irish Moss 3g @ 10 mins
Nottingham yeast

I like this recipe very much. After 6 months conditioning this 500 gms of brown malt makes the beer really outstanding. Unfortunately, 6 months is about time I'm drinking last bottle of batch.
Re: BIAB #22 - Aire Valley Porter
sadly I won't get to taste any of this one, it's for our bass player.
However, next weekend, I'm doing a demo BIAB at my LHBS and I get to keep the results. It will be a single hop (amarillo) American Amber style ale, if you can have such a thing with a single hop
