Tea is for mugs...
Re: JBK Brewalong #2 Feb 2016
Updated with all so far. 189l with only Rad to get back with his brew length now, so hopefully we'll make 200l total.
Jim wrote:Right, here are all the stats I have so far. I can't find the brew length for some of you - apologies if it's there and I missed it. If there's a question mark against your brew here, could you post how much (in litres) you actually brewed please? Ta!

Total stands at 209l + Rad's brew. I don't think that's bad at all considering it was a fairly 'non-standard' beer.
Re: JBK Brewalong #2 Feb 2016
Mine has taken longer to ferment than I expected, perhaps because of the greater volume. It's down to 1012 now though, so I'm going to give it a couple more days and check again. There's still a fair cap of yeast floating on the beer so it may go a little further yet.

Sounds like everyone's ending up at around 1012/13. Given the hoppage, I'm not sure I'd want mine any drier. Did anyone make the predicted 1010, though?
Re: JBK Brewalong #2 Feb 2016
I haven't checked mine yet. I've reduced the temperature to about 16C to help it clear down and it's going in a cornie in a day or two for force carbing. I'll take a reading then. I used notty, though, so I'm expecting it to be down somewhere near 10.Hogarth wrote:Sounds like everyone's ending up at around 1012/13. Given the hoppage, I'm not sure I'd want mine any drier. I ended up with 24.5l in the end. Filled 14 bottles and the rest went into the keg.

supping a half of this in the glorious sunshine this afternoon. excellent!
dazzled, doused in gin..
Re: JBK Brewalong #2 Feb 2016
Sunny here today too, but with the wind-chill factored in the temperature struggled to scrape more than a few degrees above freezing. Far too cold for sitting out in the sunshine

I found Special B a bit overpowering, but I imagine the Chinook will keep it in check.

Tastes good. It's a better balanced beer than you'd expect from the recipe.
Re: JBK Brewalong #2 Feb 2016
Looks like mine is fairly steady at 1012 now, so I shall be bottling shortly.
