Hi , made this recipe on saturday , its an upscaled version of one that im quite fond of
target length was 80 l @ 1048 , but ended up with that at over 1060 so had to liquor it back to almost 100l
14kg wayermann pilsener
3kg vienna
1kg flaked barley
110 ekg first wort
60g saaz 10 mins
60g saaz flameout#
w34/70 yeast used , 2 mason jars from last big brew
Filling hlt
Grains
Filling the boiler
Boiling away
vienna lager
Re: vienna lager
Looks good that, its a nice full boiler
I see you do the first addition of hops as first wort. This is something i want to try instead of adding them at the boil. Have you seen any noticable differences?

Re: vienna lager
Hard to say 100% but the bitterness seems smoother , not sure if you would notice it in an ale or ipa but I 'think' I prefer it. It's definitely not been a negative for me anyway
Re: vienna lager
I usually dial back the bitterness when creating recipes based on my own tastes as i sometimes find it a bit too much. So i will be definetly trying it
