Spring Bomb

Post by Rhodesy » Fri Mar 31, 2017 8:41 am

I have recently being doing some styles away from the typical APA/AIPA I tend to do. With the warmer weather around the corner and with a freezer full of hops I thought it was time to use some of these up :D. I am using WLP007 as opposed to my usual WLP090 for this style and also plan to dry hop loose in the keg making use of the cask float I have fitted to that particular Cornie. Currently mashing in just now whilst I 'work' from home

I kegged this with the pellet dry hops loose over the weekend having my first sample tonight. It has turned out quite nice. I am getting a good aroma and no harsh bitterness. Happy with it Image

I have built quite a supply of hops over the winter so need to actually start using them as have been doing some lagers and Belgians of late which don't need these New World and US Hops. I am using a cask float in the Corny keg hence why it has dropped so bright so soon, also a little gelatine was added on Tuesday for good effect.
