I can't find any more where I got BB's Old Bernard recipe from. I can find this link
https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/ ... ld-bernard
I thought I would start a JBK thread to keep this info available for members.
The first brew I did of this is noted in my recipe book as a modification, and is as follows:
4500g pale malt
250g crystal rye malt
100g pale crystal malt EBC 60
200g horrified wheat
50g Choco malt EBC 1000
30g roast barley
Centennial hops to 50 IBU for 90 mins
50g First Gold to steep at 0 mins
Wilkos ale yeast
It was blooming awesome.
Decided to rebrew this evening.
4500g pale malt
350g crystal rye malt
100g pale crystal malt EBC 60
200g horrified wheat
50g Choco malt EBC 1000
30g roast barley
50g First Gold hops to 50 IBU for 90 mins (7.9%)
50g First Gold to steep at 0 mins
Wilkos ale yeast repitched from my latest brew.
Can't wait!
Can anyone post the actual BB original recipe?

Re: Barnsley Brewer's (?) Old Bernard
BB has bought Old Bernard to the home brew festival a few times an is a fine beer, I do believe it has done well in the competitions.
