Final brew of 2017 - Ahtanum New Year

Post by Rhodesy » Sun Dec 31, 2017 6:44 pm

Brewing up this simple brew before the year is out over tonight. All going well so far however not taken any pics as yet.

I have never used this hop as the main hop before, usually using in conjunction with other more high alpha hops in Punk IPA clones etc. I bought 25kg of the malt in 5 x 5kg bags from the MM as will use it for base in some lagers also mixed in with some others. Currently boiling and hit my pre boil gravity bang on.

The mash was a full volume mash with no sparge in the BM.

ahh, I had 500g of the malt as I had KG on my phone app and grams on desktop. I had to use phone to add the malt as it was an add-on and was being lazy

Will amend the OP. It turned out fine and on target.

I have a similar problem bud. Beersmith 2 app uses kilogrammes and keeps rounding up the units column onto the 10s column, whilst BIABacus which I build my recipes in uses grammes and doesn't round up. Personally I prefer to work in grammes and for my software to not keep rounding my quantities up...
