Smash Lager

Post by Haydnexport » Fri Apr 06, 2018 6:42 pm

Hi , this being the second brew of 2018 , first with the mash manifold and new hlt. Was aiming for 75L of 1.048 wort , ended with 74L of 1052 , so there or there abouts. The rims and manifold worked really well with very clear wort (for me) going into the boiler.

Grain Bill 15kg of wayerman pilsener
210g of saaz hops at the start of boil
2 protofloc at 15 mins
thats it

That makes sense now as i was like in our convos he said he uses a march pump for your cfc. Nice to see how youve set it up.
Beer looks nice and simple too

lol yes the cfc is a beast , it's 15 turns around and around 1.2 m each so its around 18m long, was a mega PITA to thread the copper through it.

it was 2 weeks at 12c followed by a couple days at 16c , I've only just set it to 2c the other day , tasted remarkably well for such a young beer , possibly due to the fact there was no late or flameout hops.
