Conditioning in this hot weather

Post by Chrissyr63 » Mon Jul 22, 2013 9:02 pm

Hi,

I made an extract brew of a London Pride clone and bottled it on the 15th July. Usually I would leave in a warm place for a couple of weeks and then a cooler place for at least another 2-4 weeks.

So now that everywhere in my house is 24 - 30 degrees and looks like staying that way for the next few weeks at least what should I do?
Follow the norm (the 1 lt plastic bottles I did are pretty solid now) or 1 week for the carbonation and then to the coolest place in the house I can find for 2 weeks (ie move it now).
Or do I need to get them into a fridge as soon as possible (although this would be at 5-7 degrees so is that a bit cold for conditioning?).

Stick them in the fridge. Cold conditioning is designed to dissolve the CO2 into solution and at those temps it will happen quite quickly. Wait till they have warmed up into double figures before drinking though.

Conditioning:
Drinking: Southwold Again,

Up Next: John Barleycorn (Barley Wine)
Planning: Winter drinking Beer
