harvest Pilsner by Youngs

Just prepared a lager brew. Done loads of this particular brand but on opening the tin it looks more like a bitter or other darker beer. .The can only has 3 months date is it possible that extract can darken or is it possibly a dud or mislabelled tin..[IMG]//images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/14 ... d31f3b.jpg[/IMG]

Yes, liquid extract can darken. Yes, it could be mislabeled.
If you can find it, I'd recommend Briess pilsner DME. I made a pilsner with it that came out a beautiful yellow color.

ive actually made this , it turned out pretty well , and it was darker than the other kits ive done.

Not a bad kit - Ive made them a few times, both as intended and as bases for kit mods. As it goes, it's at the darker end of lager style beers and comes supplied with ale yeast, so if you ferment as directed it'll turn out as a golden ale.

If you want it to be it's namesake, 2 packs of lager yeast and ferment @12 degrees
Primary 1: Nonthing
Primary 2 : Nothing
Primary 3 : None
Secondary 1 : Empty
Secondary 1 : None
DJ(1) : Nowt
DJ(2) : N'otin....
In the Keg : Nada
Conditioning : Nowt
In the bottle : Cinnamonator TC, Apple Boost Cider, Apple & Strawberry Cider
Planning : AG #5 - Galaxy Pale (re-brew) / #6 - Alco-Brau (Special Brew Clone) / #7 Something belgian...
