Have I got the right kit?

Post by Koreanbrewer » Mon Oct 31, 2016 10:00 am

Hi all, my first post on here and I'm brand new to brewing. It seems like such a great hobby from trawling through all these posts and reading up on the internet. I'm about to purchase all of my kit and have the following on my list to buy either from BrewUK or ebay,

Thermometer
Hydrometer
15l pan
Fermenter
Sanitizer
Paddle
Siphon
Bottles
Caps
Bottle capper
Plus a kit with my first batch of ingredients.

I also wanted to ask if it was worth going for this instead of the pan http://www.thehomebrewcompany.co.uk/ext ... -1126.html as it contains a boiler and wort chiller. It's only about £50 more and if it makes life a lot easier, I'll happily splash out!

Hi Koreanbrewer , the gear you have already bought will be fine for extract & kit brewing and is pretty much the same as I've been using for the past couple of years . The boiler and chiller probably would make things easier but might be better to see if homebrewing is as much fun as you think it will be before splashing out an extra £50 worth of stuff.
And they wonder why we drink ...

K,
Get 2 FVs.
You will need the extra one for batch priming and bottling.

Get 3 FV's
As you will probably end up wanting to do two brews at the same time, and the third for bottling :D
